Ubisoft and Netflix are reviving one of gaming’s most iconic stealth heroes with Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, an animated series set to premiere on October 14.
The Splinter Cell franchise, once a cornerstone of Tom Clancy’s stealth-action lineup, has been dormant for more than a decade. Aside from cameos in other Clancy titles and Netflix’s Far Cry anime, fans have been left waiting for Sam Fisher’s full return. Now, they’ll see him back in the shadows in a new way.
Created by Derek Kolstad, best known for John Wick, the series places Fisher at the helm of the covert Fourth Echelon unit. This time, he is voiced by Liev Schreiber instead of longtime actor Michael Ironside. The storyline follows Fisher as he faces a threat that ties closely to his past, making the mission personal as well as global.
For fans, Splinter Cell: Deathwatch represents both a nostalgic return and a fresh take on Ubisoft’s long-silent series.
