Nadine Lustre Is the New Face of Jag as the Denim Icon Steps into Its Next Era

Fifty years after first making its mark on denim culture, JAG is looking forward with a new face leading the way.

As part of its golden anniversary celebration, the brand officially welcomes Nadine Lustre to the JAG family—marking a new chapter for one of the country’s most enduring names in denim. Her arrival comes at a pivotal moment for JAG: one that celebrates five decades of heritage while setting its sights firmly on the generation ahead.
The announcement was made at MNL FASHION WEEK, a deliberate choice for a brand looking to bring its heritage back into the center of contemporary Philippine fashion. Surrounded by the country’s designers, creatives, tastemakers and next generation of fashion consumers, the runway became the perfect place for JAG to show not simply where it has been, but where it intends to go.
For the presentation, the JAG design team created 10 artisanal, avant-garde denim looks, taking the fabric beyond its everyday form through exaggerated silhouettes, intricate construction and unexpected treatments.
At the center of the show was Nadine’s reveal, brought to life through a contemporary reinterpretation of one of JAG’s most memorable campaigns from the 1990s: “Merman.” Decades later, the concept resurfaces as “Mermaid,” with Nadine emerging as its new protagonist—a familiar piece of the JAG archive transformed for an entirely new era.
Alongside her debut, Nadine fronts DENIM GOLD, JAG’s newest collection created for its golden anniversary. The collection revisits five definitive denim silhouettes, the Skinny, Straight Cut, Barrel, Ultra Flare and Ultra Wide, reworking each through updated fits, proportions and details designed around the way denim is worn today.
Special gold accents run throughout the collection as a subtle signature of the milestone. Rather than simply commemorating the past, DENIM GOLD takes the silhouettes that have moved through generations and asks what they can become next.
Nadine Lustre: “What I like about JAG is that it has such a strong identity and so much history, but it isn’t afraid to evolve. I think that’s what makes this partnership exciting for me, we’re both at a point where we’re exploring what comes next while still staying true to who we are. I’m excited to bring my own perspective into that and to be part of how JAG continues to grow. This feels less like one campaign and more like the beginning of a new chapter.”
Donnie Manaloto, Marketing Director, JAG Group: “As we celebrate 50 years, our priority is really to build on the equity JAG has earned and make it even stronger for the next generation. We have an incredible heritage in denim, but heritage only matters if you continue to make it relevant. That means elevating the product, the way we communicate, the experiences we create and how the brand participates in culture. Nadine is an important part of that direction, but she’s also one piece of a much bigger evolution happening across JAG. We want people to see the brand again with fresh eyes.”
Nadine’s unveiling and the launch of DENIM GOLD mark another chapter in a celebration that will continue to unfold throughout the year. More product stories, collaborations and consumer experiences are set to follow, building toward JAG’s major 50th anniversary celebration this November.
But even November is not meant to be an ending.
Fifty years has given JAG an archive of silhouettes, stories and icons worth remembering. What comes next is about taking everything that made the brand matter—and finding new ways to make it matter again.
The gold may commemorate the milestone, but the story is still being written. The next era of JAG has only just begun.
DENIM GOLD is available online, at leading department stores, and at JAG boutiques nationwide.
