MMDC AI and English microcredentials make global skills more affordable for working students

Mapúa Malayan Digital College (MMDC) is making higher learning more flexible and affordable. The school recently launched three new certification programs and a Pay-as-You-Grow payment model for working students, non-graduates, and career shifters.

The new programs focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and English language proficiency—skills now essential in a global job market. These include AI Fundamentals, English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor, and IELTS Preparation.

According to MMDC Learning and Development Director Noel Torregoza, these programs respond to the growing demand for practical, job-ready skills. “We want our students to finish these programs not only with certificates but with skills they can apply in their jobs,” he said.

The AI Fundamentals program costs PHP5,000 and runs for four weeks. It teaches students how to define AI use cases, select models, and apply frameworks like Role, Goal, Context, Execution (RGCE). Learners also study responsible AI use and prompt creation.

The ESL Instructor certification focuses on teaching English effectively. Students learn language acquisition theories, teaching strategies, and assessment methods. It costs PHP5,000 and lasts eight weeks.

Meanwhile, the IELTS Preparation certification helps students improve scores in reading, listening, writing, and speaking. It costs PHP4,000 and runs for eight weeks.

To improve accessibility, MMDC launched the Pay-as-You-Grow payment plan. Students can begin with PHP5,000 upfront, then pay as little as PHP1,000 per module as they progress.

“MMDC understands the realities that working students and professionals face,” said Vice President Jenny Chua. “Through Pay-as-You-Grow, we make education more flexible and affordable.”

Aside from these programs, MMDC also offers certifications in IBM Data Analytics, Google Digital Marketing, Meta Social Media Marketing, Adobe Content Creation, and Virtual Assistance.

With world-class content and flexible payment options, MMDC continues to empower more Filipinos to upskill and grow professionally.
