Mika Salamanca is stepping into a new role as an author with the release of her first book, “Lipad.” The actress, content creator, and recording artist will debut her children’s book at the Manila International Book Fair 2025.
“Lipad” draws inspiration from Mika’s personal journey. According to her agency Sparkle, the story highlights courage, self-love, and the freedom of flying high on your own.
During the press conference, Mika grew emotional as she read an excerpt. She explained how the book’s colors symbolize her connection with her siblings. Yellow stands for her sister who calls her a sunflower, red represents her older sister who holds a special place in her heart, while blue reminds her of her brother and her tears of joy.
Set in a grandmother’s garden, “Lipad” uses flowers as characters to tell a story about love and growth. Mika said the colors reflect her family’s influence and the lessons they gave her.
“Lipad” will be available at the Manila International Book Fair from September 10 to 14 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
