At COMPUTEX 2024, MediaTek announced it will integrate NVIDIA TAO with MediaTek’s NeuroPilot SDK, part of its edge inference silicon roadmap. MediaTek’s support for NVIDIA TAO will create a seamless experience for developers as they bring edge AI (including Generative AI) capabilities to a wide variety of IoT applications powered by MediaTek’s cutting-edge silicon. This will help companies of all scales harness the potential of edge AI in diverse IoT verticals, including smart retail, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, smart cities, and beyond.

MediaTek powers more than two billion connected devices a year. The company’s edge silicon portfolio is designed to maximize the performance of edge AI applications, while ensuring that they run very efficiently. It also integrates MediaTek’s industry-leading multimedia and connectivity technologies. With chipsets for the premium, mid-range, and entry levels, MediaTek’s edge inference silicon roadmap enables brands to bring incredible AI experiences to devices across different price points.

MediaTek’s NeuroPilot SDK integration with NVIDIA TAO can help developers push the frontier of Vision AI on all MediaTek devices – large and small, with an easy-to-use interface and performance optimization capabilities. And with over 100 ready-to-use pretrained models, NVIDIA TAO unlocks customized vision AI capabilities for a range of solutions and use cases. It automates the process of tuning AI models, and reduces development time and complexity, so developers can get products to market quickly, even if they do not have deep AI expertise.

“Integrating NVIDIA TAO with MediaTek NeuroPilot will further expand our vision of democratizing access to AI, helping drive a new wave of AI-powered devices and experiences,” said CK Wang, General Manager of the IoT business unit at MediaTek. “With these expanded resources and MediaTek’s Genio product line, it’s easier than ever for developers to design innovative Edge AI products that stand out from the competition.”

“Generative AI is turbocharging computer vision with higher accuracy for AIoT and edge applications,” said Deepu Talla, Vice President of Robotics and Edge Computing at NVIDIA. “Combining the power of NVIDIA TAO and MediaTek NeuroPilot SDK brings the latest and greatest vision AI models to billions of IoT devices.”
