Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell bring undeniable sparks in Kogonada’s new romantic fantasy A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, coming to Philippine cinemas on September 17.
Robbie stars as Sarah, opposite Farrell’s David, two strangers whose chance meeting at a wedding leads to an extraordinary adventure. Their story unfolds when car rentals lead them to mysterious doors, each revealing significant moments from their past.
Producer Youree Henley describes their chemistry as immediate and rare. “Colin and Margot were just connected, and their chemistry was there from the first scene they shot together,” he shares.
Robbie, fresh from Barbie, was initially planning a break but found the script irresistible. “It was so original and hit on so many levels. I couldn’t say no to it,” she says. Farrell, coming off The Penguin, embraced the lighter role, calling it “a journey into the light.”
Director Kogonada, who previously worked with Farrell in After Yang, highlights the actor’s natural romantic aura and depth. He also praised the duo’s synchronicity, noting their ability to improvise with ease. “It felt kinetic and alive from the beginning to the end. Their connection is deep and soulful,” he says.
Distributed by Columbia Pictures, the film promises audiences a heartfelt and magical journey starting September 17.
