LG Electronics (LG) is expanding access to high-efficiency home appliances at IFA 2026, extending advanced energy-saving technologies beyond its flagship models and into a broader range of products.

For Filipino households, the focus on energy efficiency comes at a particularly relevant time, as electricity costs remain a significant part of everyday household expenses. Against this backdrop, technologies that help reduce energy consumption can offer households a practical way to manage everyday power use while supporting more sustainable living.

The latest move reflects LG’s wider Energy Leadership strategy: making technologies designed to help reduce energy consumption available across more appliance categories rather than limiting them to premium models. For Filipino consumers, the practical benefit is simpler — greater energy efficiency that can support smarter household energy use while maintaining everyday performance.

Bringing High Energy Efficiency to More Laundry Appliances

At the Energy Leadership Zone of LG’s IFA booth, the company’s new laundry lineup demonstrates how LG is raising energy-efficiency performance across different product segments.

Among its flagship laundry appliances is a washing machine that exceeds applicable European A-grade energy-efficiency requirements by up to 70 percent. LG’s washer-dryer combination, meanwhile, features a Washing Only cycle that exceeds the applicable European A-grade requirement by up to 30 percent, while its Complete Wash and Dry cycle exceeds the standard by up to 10 percent.

These energy-saving gains are supported by LG’s core technologies, including Direct Drive Motor and precise inverter control, which are designed to optimize motor speed and output throughout each stage of the laundry process for greater efficiency.

LG’s latest dryers also feature Dual Inverter Heat Pump™ technology, which efficiently recycles heat within the system to help reduce energy consumption without compromising drying performance.

At IFA 2026, LG is also extending these advanced energy-saving technologies to more accessible models. A new mass-premium dryer scheduled to launch later this year has been upgraded from its previous European B-grade rating to the new European A-grade standard, reflecting the company’s aim of bringing high-efficiency technologies to more households.

Expanding Energy-Saving Performance Across Refrigerator Formats

LG is also introducing a wide range of refrigerators with high energy-efficiency performance across different form factors.

Its Bottom-Freezer models exceed applicable European A-grade requirements by up to 35 percent, while its Side-by-Side and French Door models meet the applicable European A-grade standard.

LG achieves these results through its cooling and compressor technologies, including precise cooling control based on usage conditions, as well as optimized insulation, heat exchanger and motor solutions designed to minimize energy loss.

The company’s latest refrigerators also feature AI Saving mode, which analyzes usage data for three weeks and intelligently adjusts cooling performance to help reduce energy consumption during periods of low activity.

Making High Efficiency a Core Strength of LG Dishwashers

High energy efficiency is also becoming a core strength across LG’s broader dishwasher portfolio, with nearly the entire new range achieving the applicable European A-grade rating.

This performance is supported by a newly engineered compact drive unit that reduces water consumption, which in turn lowers the energy required to heat the water, together with an improved Inverter Motor.

Leading the lineup are models equipped with Hybrid Air Dry, which increases air circulation and shortens drying times while enabling energy savings up to 30 percent higher than the applicable European A-grade benchmark.

For everyday cleaning, LG’s new AI SenseClean™ is designed to handle lightly soiled loads while conserving energy and water resources. Instead of applying the same settings to every load, AI SenseClean creates customized cycles based on up to 32 variables, intelligently adjusting factors such as temperature and time to help deliver effective cleaning while using energy and time efficiently.

Understanding the European A-Grade Standard

The European Union’s energy efficiency scale, which runs from A to G, is among the most rigorous in the world, having been recalibrated in recent years specifically to raise the bar for what qualifies as top-tier performance. Only a limited number of appliances reach the A-grade under these tightened standards. For the Filipino consumer, the European A-grade represents a comparable benchmark of excellence — one built to reward appliances that deliver meaningfully lower energy consumption. As electricity remains a significant household expense in the Philippines, appliances that meet or exceed this standard translate directly into more manageable power bills for Filipino families.
