Lalamove is reinforcing its consumer protection efforts by adopting the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) E-Commerce Philippine Trustmark. This move supports safer transactions and builds stronger trust in the country’s digital marketplace.
The E-Commerce Philippine Trustmark, mandated under Republic Act No. 1167 or the Internet Transactions Act, serves as a government-issued digital badge that helps verify the authenticity of platforms and sellers. It is designed to protect consumers from fraudulent online businesses while promoting accountability.
Serving about 35,000 businesses daily, Lalamove has committed to keeping its platform safe, reliable, and Trustmark-certified. “One of Lalamove’s core purposes is to connect MSMEs and consumers. By supporting DTI’s fight against fraudulent activities in e-commerce platforms, we can help our customers protect themselves better,” said Djon Nacario, Managing Director of Lalamove Philippines.
DTI also welcomed the initiative. “With many businesses using Lalamove in their daily operations, the Trustmark will help assure the safety and security of consumers’ transactions,” said Atty. Eryl Royce R. Nagtalon, OIC of the DTI E-Commerce Bureau.
Beyond compliance, Lalamove continues to strengthen platform safety through features such as Driver Facial Recognition and its Goods Protection Promise. It also educates partner drivers and customers on reporting suspicious transactions.
To further promote trust in e-commerce, Lalamove will assist its MSME partners in applying for their own Trustmark digital badge. Registered businesses will receive a QR code and security features linking to DTI’s online business database, allowing consumers to verify legitimacy.
