MOVE IT has raised the bar for rider safety and quality with its gold-standard onboarding program, and Kuya Kim Atienza just proved it is no walk in the park.
The veteran journalist and motorcycle enthusiast recently underwent the platform’s full six-step rider onboarding process, from document checks to backriding drills, at MOVE IT’s onboarding center in Manila.
The process includes:
- Document Screening: Mandatory submission of NBI, police, and CIBI clearances, plus drug and health tests every six months.
- Vehicle Inspection: Units must pass strict roadworthiness checks aligned with the Motorcycle Taxi Pilot Study.
- Skills Assessment: Real-world riding tests including backriding drills and road-readiness evaluations.
- Training & Orientation: Classroom sessions on safety protocols, passenger service, and app use, with annual retraining.
- Account Activation: Only for applicants who pass all prior stages.
- Gear Release: Free high-grade safety gear for qualified riders.
Kuya Kim shared the experience in a vlog, showing that MOVE IT’s onboarding process is built to ensure only skilled and responsible riders get the Ka-MOVE IT badge.
He also introduced I-Sumbong Mo sa MOVE IT, a feedback channel on Facebook Messenger for passengers to report safety and service concerns, complementing existing in-app reporting tools.
