KPop Demon Hunters Soundtrack Rewrites Billboard Records
KPop Demon Hunters continues to prove its staying power in both film and music. The soundtrack of the animated feature has climbed to #1 on the Billboard Top 200, while Huntr/x’s hit single “Golden” has secured the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive weeks.
This achievement makes “Golden” the longest-running #1 track by an animated band in history. The release of the deluxe edition, which includes sing-along, instrumental, and a cappella versions, has fueled its dominance. With this milestone, Huntr/x surpassed the Archies’ 1969 classic “Sugar, Sugar” and the Chipmunks’ 1958 hit “The Chipmunk Song,” both of which held #1 for four weeks in their time.
The soundtrack’s success also marks the first time an animated film has topped the Billboard 200 since Disney’s Encanto in 2022, which reigned for nine consecutive weeks. Beyond “Golden,” other tracks from the film are also charting high. Saja Boys’ “Your Idol” and “Soda Pop” sit at numbers 4 and 5, while Huntr/x’s “How It’s Done” recently rose to number 8.
The fictional bands Huntr/x and Saja Boys have been battling on the charts much like their rivalry in the movie, adding to fan excitement. With multiple songs dominating the Top 10, the momentum around KPop Demon Hunters shows no sign of slowing.
For Netflix and Sony, the continued chart success strengthens the possibility of building a long-term franchise. Awards buzz, including potential Oscar recognition, is also growing. Until then, fans worldwide keep the soundtrack in heavy rotation, cementing its place in Billboard history.
