Klook Expansion in Western Countries to Inspire Filipinos to Travel Beyond Asia
Klook is going global. The travel booking platform plans to expand its services in Australia, Europe, and the United States by 2026. The move aims to encourage more Filipinos to explore destinations outside Asia.
According to Klook Associate Marketing Director Ulla Sy-Roqueza, the shift follows growing demand for long-haul travel. “If you’ve been a follower of Klook, a lot of our promotions before were really in Asia, but we can see that the long haul is picking up,” she said.
Klook has begun building its team in the US and is now focusing on adding Europe and Australia to its growth plans. The company currently offers over 500,000 experiences across 2,700 destinations worldwide, covering accommodations, attractions, activities, and transport deals.
The expansion follows the success of Klook’s marketing strategy in promoting Vietnam’s tourism scene through content creators. The same approach will be applied to destinations in the West. “We got more requests now from creators for long-haul trips,” Roqueza added.
Klook’s 2025 Travel Pulse report shows that 89% of Filipinos choose destinations based on social media popularity, higher than the regional average of 79%. Quick content like photos (67%) and short-form videos (62%) heavily influence travel plans. Long-form videos (48%) and blog posts (45%) are used for deeper research.
Beyond content creation, Klook also plans to partner directly with Western merchants by 2026. “We will be more strategic in terms of partnering with them to grow destinations there,” Roqueza said.
