Jobstreet by SEEK shares resume and interview tips to help youth shine at WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025.
The job market is becoming tougher, with Jobstreet by SEEK reporting a 179% rise in job applications per post year-on-year. This means job seekers must stand out early, starting with a strong resume and confident interview performance. Data shows 75% of resumes are rejected before reaching hiring managers, and decisions in interviews are often made within the first 90 seconds.
To help candidates overcome these hurdles, Jobstreet by SEEK partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for the “Ready, Set, Hired!” Education and Career Guidance Workshop at WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025. Over a hundred participants joined the session designed to boost youth employability and promote skills excellence across the region.
The workshop offered practical guidance on resume writing, from choosing the right format to using strong action words that highlight strengths. It also tackled interview preparation, covering company research, confident responses, and the use of non-verbal communication. Participants learned how to dress for success and took part in mock interviews, resume clinics, and style consultations led by SEEK volunteers.
“At Jobstreet by SEEK, we have seen how technical and vocational skills are becoming increasingly valuable in today’s digital economy. Through initiatives like ‘Ready, Set, Hired’ we hope to empower more young professionals with the skills and confidence they need to succeed, helping them secure work opportunities,” said Dannah Majarocon, Jobstreet by SEEK Philippines Managing Director.
By providing hands-on learning, Jobstreet by SEEK reinforces its mission to connect emerging professionals with career opportunities, support TESDA’s workforce readiness efforts, and close regional talent gaps.
