Dorchester Collection’s Hotel Eden, will present the third chapter of its art exhibition, Echoes Through Time, created in partnership with Galleria Russo and running until April 23. Displayed throughout the hotel’s public areas, guests can view 12 works by Italian artist, Giorgio Tentolini including key pieces such as Afrodite Capua and Afrodite di Menophantos and Danzatrice.
Born in Casalmaggiore in 1978, Giorgio Tentolini develops work focused on time, memory and identity through layered materials such as tulle, metal mesh, paper and PVC. His practice, situated between painting and sculpture, will be defined by the interaction of light and shadow, presence and absence. Active since 2000 and presented in international contexts including Palazzo Reale in Milan, his work will be shown as part of an approach in which images will be emerging gradually, shifting with the viewer’s perspective.
His research will be drawing on classical art, the philosophy of perception, photography and printmaking. References to Greco‑Roman sculpture will be serving as a source of visual memory. Through layers and transparencies, images will be appeared as temporary outcomes of continuous composition. Light will be taking a central role, while figures will be emerging and dissolving within the perceptual field.
Francesca Romana Russo and Alberto Russo of Galleria Russo comment, “This collaboration between Galleria Russo and Hotel Eden comes from the meeting of two historic institutions, both deeply rooted in Rome’s cultural and entrepreneurial landscape. By bringing together excellence in luxury hospitality with more than a century of experience in the art world, we aimed to create a project that goes beyond an exhibition: a dialogue between past and present, and between art and hospitality, designed to enhance the guest experience.”
Mirko Cattini, general manager of Hotel Eden, adds, “We are honoured to collaborate with Galleria Russo and present an artistic journey dedicated to four contemporary artists, united by a shared vision of time and memory as vital forces within their work. With enthusiasm, we continue to strengthen the relationship between Hotel Eden and the contemporary art scene.”
Echoes Through Time will continue Hotel Eden’s commitment to presenting contemporary art as part of the guest experience, aligned with Dorchester Collection’s vision of building cultural connections across its destinations.
