Hitachi Vantara has been named a Leader in the latest GigaOm Radar for Object Storage, earning recognition for its Virtual Storage Platform One Object (VSP One Object). Launched in November 2024, VSP One Object now features industry-first native Amazon S3 Tables support, enabling businesses to run SQL-based analytics on open-format data without complex data transfers.
The GigaOm report assessed 22 vendors, highlighting performance, security, and scalability in modern data environments. Hitachi Vantara stood out in:
- Advanced reporting on usage, capacity, and access trends
- Storage optimization by identifying redundant or stale data
- Expanded AWS S3 API support, including S3 Object Lock and S3 Tables
VSP One Object is part of the VSP One portfolio, unifying block, file, SDS, and object storage. It supports Apache Iceberg via S3 Tables, automating compaction, snapshots, and metadata cleanup. This reduces operational overhead and allows enterprises to focus on analytics.
Hitachi Vantara also plans to add NVMe-QLC and TLC flash-based storage support to deliver better price-to-performance benefits. This recognition follows its 2025 Fortress Cybersecurity Award for Data Protection and other GigaOm leadership rankings.
