Hayley Williams has released the official music video for “Parachute”, the only previously unheard track from her latest album Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party. The video, directed and edited by Zachary Gray, highlights Williams’ raw delivery and striking presence, reinforcing the song’s emotional weight.
“Parachute” was first introduced when Williams compiled her surprise August drop of 17 unsequenced singles into an official album, adding the track as the final piece. The fan-driven rollout began with hayleysingles.com, where listeners created and shared their own playlists. Williams later used those playlists to format the official 18-track album, released on August 28 and available for physical pre-order ahead of its November 7 release.
Produced by Daniel James, the record showcases Williams’ versatility across genres. She contributed vocals, instrumentation and songwriting, with support from longtime collaborators Brian Robert Jones and Joey Howard, plus Jim-E Stack on “True Believer”. That track recently secured her first solo Billboard Alternative Sales #1.
Since Paramore’s departure from Atlantic Records in 2023, Williams has taken full creative control through her independent label Post Atlantic, with distribution via Secretly Distribution. Recent visuals for the title track and “Glum” further build the album’s narrative, with “Parachute” cementing the project as Williams’ most dynamic solo statement yet.
From the alt-rock edge of “Mirtazapine” to the Americana-leaning “Whim” and the sharp lyricism of “Ice in My OJ”, the album underscores her range. But “Parachute” stands out as the emotional anchor, tying together her confessional writing with a soaring performance.
Williams’ third solo chapter follows her pandemic-era records Petals For Armor (2020) and Flowers for Vases (2021), expanding her artistry beyond Paramore’s high-energy core. With Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, she cements her place as a fearless solo voice while honoring the legacy that brought her here.
