Globe reaffirmed its commitment to nation-building by helping strengthen connectivity support for ASEAN-related events hosted by the Philippine government in early 2026.
Globe supported the country’s hosting of ASEAN-related events in the first quarter of 2026 by delivering free mobile signal enhancements and dedicated on-ground support across key venues nationwide.
The initiative was carried out in close coordination with the Department of Information and Communications Technology, the National Telecommunications Commission, and the ASEAN National Organizing Council. It covered events in Metro Manila, Cebu, Bohol, Iloilo, and Boracay.
As international gatherings require reliable communication, Globe conducted readiness checks across several venues ahead of the events. The company worked with government partners to assess connectivity requirements and strengthen network capacity before delegates and participants arrived.
During the events, Globe deployed dedicated teams on-site to monitor network performance and respond to concerns quickly. This helped ensure that delegates, organizers, and participants remained connected throughout the activities.
Improved 5G coverage in key locations
Globe also rolled out targeted network enhancements in high-traffic venues, including hotels and function spaces. These efforts improved 5G coverage in select locations, resulting in stronger mobile signals and faster data speeds for attendees.
The DICT commended Globe for its proactive contribution to the country’s ASEAN hosting efforts, recognizing the company’s role in strengthening connectivity support for major regional engagements.
“Globe stands with the government in enabling meaningful participation and collaboration during ASEAN engagements. By ensuring reliable connectivity, we aim to support the country’s role in fostering stronger regional partnerships,” said Joel Agustin, Senior Vice President for Service Planning and Engineering at Globe.
Through early preparation, public-private collaboration, and sustained on-ground support, Globe helped contribute to the successful staging of ASEAN activities in the Philippines.
Globe said it will continue working with government and industry partners to strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure and support initiatives that promote national development.
