Dorchester Collection’s 45 Park Lane Presents Great Women Photographers Exhibition

Dorchester Collection’s 45 Park Lane will present Great Women Photographers, a new exhibition inspired by Phaidon’s publishing series. Running from September 16 to November 15, 2026, the exclusive works have been curated by Ackerman Studios in collaboration with Phaidon, the premier global publisher for the creative arts. The exhibition will be displayed across the 45 Park Lane hotel lobby and BAR 45.

The exhibition is timed to coincide with the publication of Great Women Photographers, the fourth volume in Phaidon’s series dedicated to women in the arts. Photographs from the book will be showcased throughout the hotel, alongside a special installation across its ground-floor windows featuring limited-edition Artspace works inspired by artists featured in the wider series, Great Women Artists, Great Women Painters and Great Women Sculptors.

CELEBRATING WOMEN’S CREATIVE LEGACIES

Spanning almost 200 years of photographic history, Great Women Photographers covers documentary photography, portraiture, fashion photography, conceptual art and photo collage, showcasing individuals

who shaped the medium and influenced later generations of artists. Exhibition highlights will include Nan Goldin’s Valerie in the Taxi, Paris, Tacita Dean’s 66 DEAD 4/5 leafed clovers and Cig Harvey’s Wisteria. Guests will also see work by Marilyn Minter, whose practice examines beauty, identity and representation.

Later in the exhibition’s run, Charlotte Flint, editor of Great Women Photographers, and Fiona Rogers, the inaugural Parasol Foundation Curator of Women in Photography at the V&A, will host a discussion at the hotel exploring the photographers included in the publication and the wider role of women in the medium.

Art is at the heart of the 45 Park Lane guest experience, with a year-round programme of exhibitions curated in partnership with Lily Ackerman, founder and director of Ackerman Studios, since 2017.

Great Women Photographers will be on display from September 16 to November 15, 2026, throughout the public spaces of 45 Park Lane and BAR 45.
