Two Globe-backed Philippine social enterprises, Virtualahan and The Spark Project, were highlighted in the Singtel Group Future Makers (SGFM) 2025 Impact Report, which marks a decade of tech-driven social innovation across the Asia-Pacific.
Virtualahan, known for pioneering inclusive digital training for persons with disabilities, and The Spark Project, a platform that supports creative and social entrepreneurs, both represent the Philippines in SGFM’s alumni network.
Launched in 2015, SGFM has supported 85 startups across 11 countries, impacting over 24 million people through programs in education, healthcare, mental health, environment, agriculture, waste management, and inclusion. Globe introduced this initiative locally in 2017 through Globe Future Makers (GFM), offering mentorship, marketing support, and networking opportunities to Filipino startups.
Virtualahan has since trained 1,267 persons with disabilities, achieving a 66% employment rate and 25% income increase among its graduates. It also grew revenues by 300% and developed two spin-off businesses. The Spark Project, once a crowdfunding platform, has supported 135 enterprises, channelled Php25.5 million into impact projects, and rolled out a Php16.6 million loan fund.
Through partnerships with Globe, both groups scaled their impact. Virtualahan connected disadvantaged communities to DICT’s Digital Jobs PH program, while The Spark Project co-hosted Spark Fest, gathering creatives and social entrepreneurs for talks and workshops.
“By connecting us with a wider network of mentors, collaborators, and supporters, GFM and SGFM enabled us to build stronger programs,” said Patch Dulay, founder of The Spark Project.
Globe remains committed to nurturing startups that use technology to address social challenges and drive sustainable development.
