One of the country’s most established advertising and marketing communications groups has entered a new era as DDB Group Philippines officially rebrands as GGC Group Asia, signaling its evolution into an independent creative and business solutions organization with a broader regional vision.
The rebranding follows Omnicom Group’s global decision to retire the DDB brand worldwide after its acquisition of Interpublic Group in late 2025. For more than three decades, DDB Group Philippines served as the local affiliate of the global DDB network, building a reputation for award-winning creative work and integrated marketing solutions.
Founded in 1992 through a partnership between DDB Worldwide and Filipino-owned agency Advertising Marketing and Associates (AMA), the organization has played a major role in shaping the Philippine advertising industry.
A Legacy Carried Forward

The new company name is inspired by the initials of Group Chairman and CEO Gil G. Chua, who described the transition as both a continuation of a strong legacy and the beginning of a new chapter.
According to Chua, the company remains grateful for its long-standing relationship with Omnicom and DDB Worldwide, which helped elevate Filipino talent to the global stage while setting high standards in creativity and business excellence.
While the brand name changes, GGC Group Asia will continue to collaborate with Omnicom when needed, allowing clients to maintain access to international marketing communications resources and expertise.
Expanded Capabilities Across Asia
As part of the transition, several agencies under the group have also adopted new identities.
• DDB Philippines becomes Velocity+
• DDB MNL becomes Alab MNL
• Tribal Worldwide Philippines becomes The Tribe
Other companies under the group, including Optimax Communications, Agile Intelligence, Ripple8, Touch XDA, and Bent and Buzz, will retain their existing names.
The rebrand also brings together several business solutions companies from the FCT Group, including FOSA, Caishen, Track Mnl, Xpress Move, Strawberry Jam, and PhilMovers. The integration creates a larger organization composed of 14 companies operating across 18 offices nationwide with more than 7,500 employees.
The combined group now offers a wider range of services covering advertising, public relations, media planning and buying, logistics, marketing support, and business solutions.
No Changes for Clients and Partners
GGC Group Asia emphasized that the rebranding will not affect leadership, employees, client relationships, contracts, or ongoing operations. Existing partnerships and service agreements will remain unchanged.
The company says it remains committed to delivering the same level of creativity, effectiveness, and strategic expertise that clients have come to expect over the years.
Continuing an Award-Winning Tradition
Before the rebrand, DDB Group Philippines earned numerous local and international awards, including the Philippines’ first Cannes Lions Grand Prix and first AME Gold Award in 2013. The group also received multiple Agency of the Year recognitions and workplace excellence awards from industry organizations and global institutions.
With the launch of GGC Group Asia, the company aims to build on that legacy while expanding its reach and impact across the region.
Why It Matters
The transition from DDB Group Philippines to GGC Group Asia reflects a significant shift in the Philippine marketing communications industry. It positions a homegrown organization to operate independently while expanding its regional footprint and service capabilities across Asia.
