Gen V season one recap before the September return
The Boys spin-off Gen V returns to Prime Video on September 17. If you missed parts of season one, this recap brings you up to speed before the new season begins.
Gen V season one introduced Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), a Supe who controls blood. She enrolled at Godolkin University, a training ground for young Supes built on ethics, branding, and combat. Soon, Marie realized the school was hiding darker secrets.
She found allies in Andre Anderson (Chance Perdomo), who manipulates magnetism, Cate Dunlap (Maddie Phillips), a powerful telepath, Emma Meyer (Lizze Broadway), who can shrink or grow in size, and Jordan Li (London Thor/Derek Luh), who shifts gender while switching powers. Together, they learned that Godolkin ran secret experiments to weaponize Supes.
The turning point came when Luke “Golden Boy” Riordan (Patrick Schwarzenegger) killed a professor and then himself. Marie and her group uncovered that his attack was not random. Instead, it exposed a project to develop a virus that could kill Supes. Their efforts to reveal the truth ended when Homelander (Anthony Starr) arrived, capturing them and silencing their story.
The season ended with more questions than answers, linking directly to the larger universe of The Boys. Cate Dunlap and Sam Riordan (Asa August Germann) later appeared in The Boys season four, siding with Homelander. The virus from Godolkin also resurfaced with Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), hinting at a bigger role in the battles ahead.
Season two arrives with emotional weight. Chance Perdomo, who played Andre, passed away earlier this year. Production paused to rework the story, and the creators have promised to honor his memory through the continuation of the series.
Gen V season two begins streaming on September 17 on Prime Video. Fans can expect fresh twists, darker revelations, and closer ties to The Boys.
