GCash continues to set the benchmark in digital trust as Miguel Geronilla, Chief Information Security Officer of Mynt, was named Digital Leader of the Year at the PhilSec Summit 2025.
The recognition highlights Geronilla’s leadership in building a resilient cybersecurity framework that protects millions of GCash users. Under his watch, GCash has rolled out AI-powered fraud detection, real-time scam alerts, and quick reporting tools that aid law enforcement.
Geronilla emphasized that digital trust is at the core of GCash’s mission. “Trust is not a feature—it’s our foundation. This recognition reflects years of relentless work to make digital finance safe and secure for every Filipino,” he said.
PhilSec, the country’s premier cybersecurity summit, gathers government, industry, and security experts each year to strengthen the nation’s digital resilience. The 2025 awards were co-presented by the National Privacy Commission, the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
GCash reaffirmed its commitment to multi-sector partnerships, working closely with agencies such as the PNP-ACG, NBI, NPC, and DICT-CICC. These collaborations enable intelligence sharing, coordinated response, and nationwide cybersecurity literacy.
