Fluence Energy, Inc. has started production of its new Smartstack energy storage solution at a contract manufacturing facility in Vietnam. The move marks the company’s readiness to deliver its most advanced system yet to meet growing global demand.
Smartstack, introduced in February 2025, is an AC-based platform with a patent-pending modular design. It offers about 30% higher energy density than other leading AC solutions, allowing more megawatt-hours within limited project sites. Its modular architecture also reduces shipping constraints and simplifies installation.
Fluence designed Smartstack to maximize site efficiency and customer value. The system is backed by performance guarantees through its Smart Service Plans. These include an Availability Guarantee of up to 99%, the first-of-its-kind Dispatchable Energy Guarantee for 24/7 availability, and long-term Energy Capacity and Round-Trip Efficiency guarantees extending up to 25 years.
The Vietnam facility has an annual manufacturing capacity of 35 GWh. It uses a fully automated process to ensure quality and scalability while supporting global supply needs.
Customer deliveries of Smartstack will begin in the last quarter of 2025.
