Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas to Open in 2031 as Accor Expands in India

The planned 16-acre luxury resort in Uttarakhand will feature 220 guestrooms, four dining venues, wellness facilities and 3,000 square meters of event space.

Accor is expanding its luxury presence in India with the signing of Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas, a new resort scheduled to open in 2031 in the Shivpuri Range of Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

Set across approximately 16 acres near the Himalayan foothills and the River Ganges, the property is being planned as a destination for wellness escapes, leisure stays, celebrations and business events. It will bring the Fairmont brand to one of India’s best-known spiritual and wellness destinations.

What guests can expect

Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas will feature 220 guestrooms and a range of leisure, dining and event facilities, including:

• Four dining venues
• 3,000 square meters of event space
• A spa and fitness center
• A swimming pool
• A kids’ club
• Curated guest experiences inspired by the destination

The resort’s spaces and experiences will draw from the natural landscape and cultural heritage of the region. Accor said the property is intended to offer a distinctive setting for relaxation, memorable stays, weddings and other celebrations.

Rishikesh’s growing appeal

Rishikesh is internationally known for yoga, meditation, spirituality and holistic well-being. Its natural surroundings also make it a popular destination for adventure tourism and nature-led experiences.

The destination’s connectivity to Delhi NCR and other important markets has also supported demand for luxury leisure travel, staycations, weddings and meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions, or MICE events.

The planned Fairmont resort responds to growing interest in immersive and experience-led travel in the Shivpuri-Rishikesh area, while helping address the limited supply of internationally branded luxury resorts in the region.

Fairmont expands its India portfolio

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is one of Accor’s leading luxury brands, with landmark properties that include The Plaza in New York, The Savoy in London, Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai and Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech.

In India, the brand currently has properties in Jaipur, Mumbai and Udaipur. Fairmont also has upcoming openings in Shimla Fagu, Goa and Agra, in addition to the newly signed Rishikesh resort.

A hospitality milestone for Javi Group

The project also represents an important step for Javi Group as it develops a dedicated hospitality business and diversifies its interests.

Vibhor Jain, director of Javi Home Pvt. Ltd., said the company sees strong long-term potential in Rishikesh and believes Fairmont’s approach to luxury hospitality complements the area’s natural beauty, spiritual heritage and growing appeal to discerning travelers.
