Easy Freak Release « Only Like You Do » &Amp; Announce Their Upcoming Album ‘the Touch’, Out December 11Th on Ultra Records

Fast-rising duo EASY FREAK, formed by Dom Hurd and Jude Kendrick Ganasen,  kicked off on August 21st the next chapter of their career with “Only Like You Do,” the first single from their highly anticipated sophomore album ‘The Touch,’ out December 11th — a record that candidly traces the full arc of love, from the euphoria of new beginnings to the quiet grace found on the other side of heartbreak.

A masterclass in pop/funk/groove production, “Only Like You Do” sets the tone for a four-single rollout, each paired with a striking official music video steeped in 70’s and 80’s nostalgia that showcases the duo’s singular, meticulously crafted aesthetic. 

As Jude puts its, « Dom had written most of this track years ago when we first started EASY FREAK in 2016. It was originally written for acoustic guitar as a very slow and melancholic song (post breakup hehe), but we changed the time signature, added some groove and funk, and brought it back to life. We’ve grown so much as songwriters and producers, and it’s always a fun time giving an older track a second chance. »

The album stands as a landmark step in the duo’s carreer: « We’ve been making music for almost 10 years, and it’s only in the last few years that we feel like we’ve really found our sound. This album feels like a culmination of all that time, all that searching, all that growing and learning. The Touch is the first time that we’ve truly been able to express our songwriting and compositional ideas. Live instrumentation is a big theme for this project; with live string and horn sections, and live drums being new additions to our recording process. The music of the 70s and 80s have always been a big influence for us, and we’ve been able to lean more into that with this project. You’ll hear the inspiration of artists/groups like Sade, Michael Jackson, CHIC, and Prince sparkling through the songs. The aesthetic of The Touch is something we put a lot of time into; inviting the listeners into this world that we’ve created. »
