The battle between brothers returns as Netflix drops the first look at Devil May Cry season two, set for release in 2026.
Season one ended with Dante (Johnny Yong Bosch) destroying the rift machine and saving humanity, only to learn that his brother Vergil (Robbie Daymond) was alive. The new teaser reveals Vergil has allied with demons after the White Rabbit group’s defeat. Fueled by revenge over America’s attack on the Demonworld, Vergil unleashes chaos while Dante is frozen, setting up an explosive confrontation.
The trailer teases a clash of blood against blood, with Dante and Vergil standing on opposite sides of fate. Creator Adi Shankar promises this is not a remake, but a bold reinterpretation of the Capcom series. He described the project as a “new continuity,” one that respects canon but reshapes it for serialized streaming.
Shankar said he views himself as a “franchise architect” for Devil May Cry on Netflix, tasked with balancing fan expectations and new storytelling possibilities. He likened his approach to Marvel’s Ultimate Universe and X-Men: The Animated Series, preserving the emotional core while rebuilding the mythology.
Devil May Cry season two arrives in 2026. Season one is streaming now on Netflix.
