Converge CEO Businessman of the Year Leads Digital Access Push

Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy adds a new milestone as he earns the Businessman of the Year award from Esquire Philippines. The recognition honors his long work in expanding digital access and building one of the country’s most reliable fiber networks. His message during the ceremony focused on using technology to improve daily life and keeping every Filipino connected.

Uy shared that he sees himself as someone driven by technology, not titles. His work at Converge reflects this mindset. He pushes for better digital access in cities and remote areas. He also leads efforts to evolve Converge into a full technology company. His goal is simple. Give Filipinos fast, stable, and affordable internet.

This year’s Man at His Best Awards honors the Architects of Tomorrow. These are men and women shaping the future through creativity, leadership, and innovation. Uy joins a diverse group of honorees. Lav Diaz for Creative of the Year. Senator Bam Aquino for Maverick of the Year. Jericho Rosales for Actor of the Year. Butch Dalisay for Icon of the Year. Glenda Gloria for Journalist of the Year. IV of Spades for Music Artist of the Year. Chef Jorge Mendez for Chef of the Year. The lineup shows how different fields help build a progressive future.

Uy’s work helped shape the fiber to the home movement in the Philippines. Under his leadership, Converge built over 888,000 kilometers of fiber infrastructure. The network now serves nearly 2.93 million homes. Uy stresses that internet access is not a luxury. He calls it a basic requirement for digital transformation. He continues to push for lower costs, including prepaid fiber that started at 700 pesos.

His impact extends beyond Converge. Uy led the Philippine Business Conference and Expo this year. He brought global tech leaders like Foxconn and Naver to speak. The focus was clear. Technology drives national progress.

Uy shared his award with his employees, partners, and customers. He highlighted their role in Converge’s rapid growth. He also promised to keep pushing for a digitally inclusive Philippines. As Converge expands from broadband into a full tech company, Uy plans to deliver new solutions that support businesses and communities across the country. His message remains constant. Digital access should reach everyone.
