AWS re/Start graduates step into tech roles with in-demand digital skills
Months after finishing the second cohort of the AWS re/Start program, Chevron Philippines and Edukasyon.ph confirmed that most of the 50 sponsored scholars have found jobs. Within three months, 62% or 31 graduates secured roles across multinational companies, government agencies, startups, and non-profits.
AWS re/Start is a free workforce development program designed to prepare unemployed and underemployed individuals for entry-level cloud careers. It covers cloud fundamentals, networking, security, databases, and programming. Edukasyon.ph supports graduates with job placements, connecting them to both local and international employers.
Among the new employers are Samsung Research Philippines, CarParts.com, Fujitsu Singapore, Kyndryl Philippines, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology. Of those employed, 80.64% work in Philippine-based firms, while 19.36% hold remote jobs with international companies.
Graduates entered diverse roles, including software development, cloud support, data analysis, network infrastructure, and quality assurance. Some also pursued program management, training, and facilitation.
Chevron leaders expressed pride in the scholars’ achievements. “We are proud to see our graduates thriving in respected organizations. At Chevron, we remain committed to partnerships that uplift communities and help those in need,” said Atty. Raissa Bautista, Senior Corporate Advisor of Chevron Philippines.
Chevron continues to support education, livelihood, and sustainability initiatives as part of its long-term commitment to community progress.
