Chevron Philippines appoints Pongtorn Tangmanuswong as new General Manager and Country Chairman, succeeding Billy Liu
Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), the marketer of Caltex fuels and lubricants, has appointed Pongtorn “Bon” Tangmanuswong as its new General Manager and Country Chairman. He takes over from Billy Liu, who led CPI for nearly five years and now assumes a new role at Chevron’s Houston headquarters.
Tangmanuswong brings 17 years of experience in Chevron across Asia-Pacific. He started in 2008 and has held key positions in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Asset Optimization, and Special Projects. His most recent role was as General Manager and Country Chairman of Chevron Cambodia, where he improved terminal operations, product supply, distribution, and marketing.
In the Philippines, he will oversee operations covering more than 600 Caltex service stations, 450 autoPro workshops, major commercial accounts, and five Chevron proprietary terminals nationwide. His leadership aims to further strengthen Chevron’s market presence in fuels and lubricants.
“It is an honor to step into the role of General Manager and Chairman at such an exciting time for our business,” Tangmanuswong said. “The Philippine market is dynamic, competitive, and full of untapped potential. I’m committed to leading with vision, energy, and a spirit of collaboration. Together, we will challenge limits, seize new opportunities, and shape a successful, sustainable future.”
Former CPI head Billy Liu expressed confidence in his successor. “I saw his ability in delivering growth while putting people and partners at the center of his leadership. I am confident that CPI will continue to thrive under his direction,” Liu said.
This leadership transition signals Chevron’s commitment to expanding its operations in the Philippines while addressing the country’s growing demand for reliable and cleaner energy solutions.
