Glen Powell transforms into a survivor in The Running Man
Audiences are in for a wild ride as Glen Powell headlines The Running Man, opening exclusively in cinemas on November 12. In a newly released “Behind the Action” featurette, Powell promises a spectacle like no other. “We’re really breaking out the heavy artillery, the big explosions,” he shares. “Hopefully I’ll make the stunts look cool. This is going to be fun.”
Fans can now go behind the scenes with two featurettes. Behind the Action offers a closer look at the movie’s thrilling stunts, while Behind the Training reveals how Powell prepared for the demanding role. Both clips are available online for fans eager to see what it takes to become an action hero.
Directed by Edgar Wright, known for Baby Driver and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the film is based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name. It tells the story of Ben Richards, played by Powell, a working-class man desperate to save his sick daughter. In a dystopian society where the most popular TV show is a deadly competition, Richards joins The Running Man. Contestants, called Runners, must survive 30 days while evading professional assassins, all for a chance at cash rewards.
As Richards fights to stay alive, he becomes more than a contestant. His grit and defiance turn him into an unlikely fan favorite, challenging the system itself. With each day, the stakes grow higher, forcing Richards to outwit both the Hunters and a nation obsessed with watching him fall.
The cast includes Josh Brolin as the show’s ruthless producer Dan Killian, alongside Colman Domingo, William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, and more. With explosive action sequences, high-stakes drama, and Wright’s signature style, The Running Man is shaping up to be one of the year’s most intense cinematic experiences.
