Brother Philippines marked its 25th year with a hands-on mission to protect the environment. On June 28, 2025, 196 volunteers from Brother Philippines and Brother Industries (Philippines), Inc. took part in a coastal cleanup in Sitio Calumbuyan, Calatagan, Batangas.
The group collected around 160 sacks of trash along the shoreline. This effort is part of Brother’s ongoing commitment to environmental action and aligns with their CSR program launched in 2022.
The coastal cleanup also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — specifically SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 14 (Life Below Water). Removing marine waste helps protect biodiversity and combat climate change caused by ocean pollution.
Glenn Hocson, President of Brother Philippines, emphasized that this annual cleanup goes beyond trash collection. “It’s a reflection of our duty to communities and the environment,” he said.
This initiative is part of Brother’s wider CSR programs. These include:
- The Green Project for responsible ink bottle disposal
- Brigada Eskwela for school support
- Lakbay Aral for student learning experiences
As Brother Philippines continues to grow, its focus remains clear: drive sustainable impact and encourage collective action to protect the planet.
