Naturland sparks movement for organic food adoption in the Philippines
Naturland e.V., a global leader in organic agriculture, is bringing stronger awareness of organic food to the Philippines. The group launched its “European Organic: Nurturing Every Juan” campaign on EU Organic Day, in partnership with the European Union. The three-year program aims to make organic food more accessible to Filipinos and encourage mindful consumption.
The launch was held at Grace Park Dining, a restaurant tied to renowned chef Margarita Fores. Guests enjoyed curated dishes featuring EU organic products, showcasing the quality and sustainability behind EU-certified goods.
The timing aligns with rising demand for healthier choices. PwC’s 2025 Voice of the Consumer report showed 67% of Filipinos value nutrition when shopping for food. Another study by Food Industry Asia found that 99% of local consumers want to practice mindful eating but need more support from the food sector.
Naturland’s Marco Schlüter highlighted how organic farming can strengthen food security. “Organic is not just a label, it’s a promise of integrity, transparency, and sustainability,” he said.
Panel discussions explained how EU organic certification works. The standards prohibit GMOs, restrict synthetic inputs, and require natural methods to maintain soil health. Products meeting these criteria earn the EU organic logo, a visible assurance for buyers. Naturland’s seal adds another layer, guaranteeing fair working conditions and social responsibility across the supply chain.
Over the next three years, the campaign will expand through consumer education and B2B partnerships. Programs will clarify what organic means, build trust in EU-certified products, and encourage Filipinos to embrace organic food daily.
Naturland sees this as the start of a local movement. By empowering more people and businesses, the association hopes to make organic food a consistent part of Filipino tables.
