ASUS celebrated 30 years of GPU innovation with the ROG Matrix RTX 5090 Anniversary Edition, revealed at Gamescom 2025. The card honors ASUS’ legacy while pushing performance further.
The design takes cues from the EN9800GT Matrix. It comes with a hybrid copper-aluminum heatsink, metallic accents, and a bold shroud frame. A circular fan housing breaks the rectangular form, while a translucent infinity-mirror-inspired panel lights up in any orientation.
For power, users can choose between a 12V-2×6 cable or the GC-HPWR slot on ASUS BTF motherboards. Each delivers 600W. When used together, the card unlocks 800W, creating massive overclocking potential.
To handle this, ASUS built the PCB with a three-ounce copper layer. This strengthens power delivery and boosts stability. Overclockers gain even more with the return of Memory Defroster, first seen in the GTX 780 Ti Matrix. This feature prevents memory cold bugs during LN2 sessions.
The ROG Matrix RTX 5090 Anniversary Edition blends legacy with innovation. It serves as both a tribute to past designs and a high-performance tool for today’s enthusiasts.
