Amazon has introduced Lens Live, a new AI shopping tool that lets you point your phone camera at objects and instantly find them on Amazon’s marketplace. The feature, now available on the Amazon Shopping app for iOS, identifies items in real time as you scan a room or focus on a product.
Lens Live uses object detection to match what your camera sees with billions of listings. Once it recognizes an item, the app shows a swipeable carousel of similar products, complete with options to add them to your cart or wishlist.
The tool also integrates Amazon’s AI assistant Rufus, which can summarize product details and answer questions about the listings. This moves beyond Amazon’s existing visual search features that only worked with uploaded photos or barcodes.
Lens Live has similarities with Google’s Gemini Live, but Amazon puts a stronger focus on shopping by attaching a direct buy option to everything scanned. The company says the feature will expand to more users in the coming weeks.
