Subaru Forester Hybrid sets new standard in range and safety
Motor Image Pilipinas Inc. has officially launched the all-new 6th Generation Subaru Forester e-BOXER hybrid in the Philippines. This new model blends advanced hybrid technology, Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (SAWD), and next-generation safety systems into a capable SUV designed for everyday drives and long adventures.
The core of the Forester is the e-BOXER strong hybrid system, which combines a 2.5L Subaru BOXER engine with an integrated electric motor. It delivers seamless transitions between EV Drive mode, engine power, or both, ensuring optimal efficiency in any condition. With its 63L fuel tank, the SUV offers over 1,000km of driving range per tank, setting a new standard for efficiency.
The new Lineartronic transmission integrates multiple components into a compact unit for improved weight balance, acceleration, and quietness. Comfort is also elevated with an electric compressor that keeps the air-conditioning active even when the engine is idle.
Built on the Subaru Global Platform, the Forester has 10% stronger chassis rigidity and enhanced suspension for better stability and ride comfort. Its SAWD system, 220mm ground clearance, and dual-function X-MODE guarantee capability across terrains. Drivers can also tailor performance with Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE), choosing between fuel-saving or sporty driving modes.
Inside, the cabin emphasizes ergonomics and connectivity. The new seats, co-developed with a Japanese medical center, reduce fatigue and provide strong support on long drives. A large 11.6-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Harman/Kardon audio, and multiple USB ports ensures convenience. Practical features like a hands-free power rear gate, sunroof, and a 484-litre cargo area add to its versatility.
Safety is reinforced with Subaru’s EyeSight 4.0 driver-assist system, which now includes a wide-angle camera and nine preventive safety functions. The Forester also features Emergency Driving Stop, Driver Monitoring with facial recognition, and multiple active and passive safety systems, including eight airbags and reinforced structures.
The exterior design highlights a bold new grille, C-shaped LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a modern rear layout with embossed branding. New colors such as River Rock Pearl and Cashmere Gold Opal add fresh style options.
