AirAsia Philippines expands Cebu routes with new domestic and international flights
AirAsia Philippines is set to strengthen its Cebu hub by opening three domestic and two international routes from Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) starting November 15, 2025.
The expansion revives Cebu-Davao-Cebu with 18 weekly flights and Cebu-Caticlan-Cebu with 11 weekly flights, while introducing Cebu-Iloilo-Cebu with four weekly flights. Internationally, Cebu-Kuala Lumpur-Cebu will operate 14 times weekly, and Cebu-Macao-Cebu will run three times weekly.
Until September 28, 2025, travelers can book promo fares via the MOVE app starting at ₱118 for travel between November 15, 2025, and March 28, 2026.
Amanda Woo, AirAsia Aviation Group Chief Commercial Officer, said Cebu plays a key role in AirAsia’s growth strategy. “By linking domestic feeders into international gateways like Macao and Kuala Lumpur, we are creating stronger bridges between communities and the wider region,” she explained. She noted that Kuala Lumpur alone connects travelers to over 3,500 routes across Asia.
AirAsia Philippines President and CEO Capt. Suresh Bangah added that Cebu’s hub reopening supports local jobs and eases congestion in Manila. “This expansion is about more than connectivity. It’s about encouraging tourism, creating jobs, and supporting communities that depend on travel and trade,” he said.
The Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation (ACAC) welcomed the move, calling it a synergy that boosts Cebu’s role as a tourism and transfer hub.
To celebrate, AirAsia will host a music festival on November 15, 2025, featuring top OPM acts, marking the hub’s relaunch and thanking the Cebuano community.
