GAC Expands Family MPV Lineup with Gn6, E8 Hev and Gn8 Phev

For years, midsize SUVs have been a default choice for Filipino families looking for space, versatility and seven-seat capacity. But as buyers place greater value on passenger comfort, flexible interiors and fuel efficiency, the modern multi-purpose vehicle is making a stronger case.

GAC International Philippines is addressing these changing priorities with an expanded MPV lineup composed of the all-new GAC GN6, GAC E8 HEV and GAC GN8 PHEV Executive.

The three models cover different needs and budgets. The GN6 offers a conventional gasoline powertrain, the E8 HEV introduces hybrid efficiency, and the flagship GN8 PHEV Executive combines premium comfort with plug-in hybrid technology.

Reservations are now open at GAC dealerships nationwide, with introductory prices available for qualified reservations made until September 30, 2026.

Why MPVs work for families

Seven seats alone do not necessarily make a vehicle family-friendly. Ease of entry, passenger comfort, usable cargo space and cabin flexibility can matter just as much.

Compared with many traditional SUVs, MPVs generally offer lower step-in heights, flatter floors and easier access to the rear rows. These characteristics can be useful for young children, older family members and passengers who frequently enter and exit the vehicle.

The GAC E8 HEV demonstrates this passenger-first approach through its low step-in height, spacious three-row cabin and, on the GX variant, power-sliding doors.

Whether used for school runs, office trips, airport transfers or long-distance travel, the design aims to make every seating row easier to access and more comfortable.

GAC GN6: Practical gasoline-powered family mobility

The all-new GAC GN6 GX serves as the most accessible model in the range.

It uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, making it suitable for customers who prefer the familiarity and convenience of a conventional internal-combustion powertrain.

Its third-row seats fold completely into the floor, expanding cargo capacity to as much as 1,100 liters. This allows the vehicle to adjust for groceries, luggage, sports equipment and other items when all seven seats are not needed.

The GN6 is also equipped with a 360-degree HD camera system and a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. These features can help drivers navigate parking areas, narrow streets and busy school drop-off zones.

The GN6 GX carries a suggested retail price of ₱1,298,000. Its introductory price is ₱1,198,000, representing savings of ₱100,000.

GAC E8 HEV: A flexible hybrid for everyday family use

The GAC E8 HEV adds an electrified option without requiring external charging.

Its 2.0-liter hybrid system offers a claimed driving range of more than 1,000 kilometers on a full tank, making it suitable for regular city use and longer family trips.

Actual range will depend on driving behavior, road conditions, passenger load, traffic and other factors.

The E8 HEV also features a Magic Storage seating system with 18 configurations. One of these is Tea Break Mode, which transforms the rear area into an outdoor lounge-style setup.

On the E8 HEV GX, second-row passengers receive One-Touch Zero Gravity captain’s seats with power leg rests, ventilation and massage functions.

The E8 HEV is available in two variants:

• E8 HEV GL: Introductory price of ₱1,778,000
• E8 HEV GX: Introductory price of ₱1,918,000

Both variants receive introductory savings of ₱80,000.

GAC GN8 PHEV Executive: Premium comfort with electrification

At the top of the range, the GAC GN8 PHEV Executive combines a premium cabin with plug-in hybrid performance.

It offers a claimed total combined driving range of up to 1,032 kilometers, although actual results will vary according to charging, fuel level, traffic and driving conditions.

Its second row features One-Touch Zero Gravity captain’s seats with power leg rests, ventilation and massage functions.

The model also introduces Zero Breeze Air Conditioning, which uses more than 1,600 micro-vents to distribute cool air gently through the cabin instead of directing strong airflow at passengers.

Owners can also connect with the vehicle through the GAC app for supported functions and services.

The GN8 PHEV Executive has a suggested retail price of ₱3,488,000. Its introductory price is ₱3,338,000, reflecting savings of ₱150,000.

Three powertrains for different stages of electrification

GAC’s MPV lineup recognizes that families are not all ready to adopt the same type of vehicle technology.

The GN6 keeps ownership familiar with a gasoline engine. The E8 HEV uses a self-charging hybrid system for customers who want improved efficiency without plugging in. The GN8 PHEV Executive brings external charging and a gasoline engine together in a premium package.

This choice allows families to consider not only the number of seats they need but also their daily distance, access to charging, travel habits and budget.

Experience backed by more than 880,000 MPVs

GAC has participated in China’s premium MPV market since the 2010s and reports delivering more than 880,000 MPVs globally.

That experience informs the three Philippine models, which focus on passenger access, seating comfort, configurable interiors and different levels of electrification.

Rather than treating an MPV as simply a vehicle with an extra seating row, GAC is presenting the category as dedicated transportation for families and other passenger-focused users.

Pricing and availability in the Philippines

Reservations for the GAC GN6, E8 HEV and GN8 PHEV Executive are now open through GAC dealerships nationwide.

Warranty and ownership support

GAC Philippines currently operates a nationwide network of 30 dealerships and maintains a local parts warehouse. Owners also receive two years of free roadside assistance.

The GN6, as a gasoline model, carries a five-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first.

The E8 HEV and GN8 PHEV Executive receive:

• Five-year or 150,000-kilometer basic warranty
• Eight-year or 150,000-kilometer coverage for the power battery, driving motor and motor control unit
