The fifth edition of Vermosa Green Run is putting sustainability at the center of race day, reminding runners that small everyday choices can help protect the environment.

Set for June 28, 2026 at Vermosa Estates in Imus, Cavite, the event aims to raise public awareness about ecosystem conservation while promoting an active lifestyle, sports development, and animal welfare.

This year’s run will feature 3K, 5K, 10K, and 21K race categories, along with a 1K Dog Run for pet owners and their dogs.

Running With a Greener Purpose

Vermosa Green Run 2026 wants participants to see sustainability as something that can be practiced before, during, and after race day.

According to Lani Tan, General Manager of Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub, runners can help by using reusable hydration bottles or collapsible cups, properly segregating waste, picking up litter when possible, and using designated disposal areas.

These simple choices may look small, but when practiced by many people, they can help reduce waste, lower carbon footprint, and protect the outdoor spaces that support active lifestyles.

Turning Plastic Bottles Into Eco Bricks

At the event, Green Runners are encouraged to donate used plastic bottles in exchange for race perks, including a ₱100 registration fee discount.

The collected bottles will be recycled into eco bricks, which will be used as construction materials for future Ayala Land projects.

The initiative shows how discarded plastic can be transformed into something useful instead of ending up as waste.

Race Gear Made From Recycled Materials

This year’s race singlets, finisher shirts, and dog bandanas are made from recycled PET bottles.

For Tan, wearing planet-friendly gear on race day is a shared badge of honor. It shows that runners are actively supporting the preservation of the environment that makes outdoor sports possible.

Habits That Go Beyond the Finish Line

The event’s bigger goal is to inspire long-term behavior change.

Tan said the true success of the Green Run will be measured by the habits participants continue after the event ends, including waste reduction, active recycling, mindful consumption, and respect for outdoor spaces.

She added that crossing the finish line should mark the beginning of a lifelong commitment to conscious living.

Supporting Nature, Fitness, and Animal Welfare

Vermosa Green Run 2026 supports Haribon Foundation, Takbo Kabitenyo, and Pawssion Project.

The event is also supported by partner brands including Oishi, Merrell, Pocari, Salonpas, Booster C, Fitbar, Gatsby, Milo, Apex, Topbreed, Dunsk Kuhner, Baby Boo, Chef Special, Entrée Gourmet Pet Treats, Saint Roche, The Gourmet Specialist, Zert, and Wonderpaw.

One Small Step at a Time

Vermosa Green Run 2026 is more than a race.

It is a reminder that building a healthier planet does not always require grand gestures. Sometimes, it begins with bringing a reusable bottle, disposing of waste properly, choosing recycled products, and treating shared spaces with care.

For runners, families, pet owners, and communities, every small step can become part of a bigger movement toward a greener future.
