Hotel Principe Di Savoia Unveils Andrea Varani Photography Exhibition

The Dorchester Collection hotel brings art into its elegant Il Salotto lobby space with a curated showcase of female portraits by the acclaimed Italian fashion photographer.

Hotel Principe di Savoia, part of Dorchester Collection, has launched a new photography exhibition featuring works by acclaimed Italian fashion photographer Andrea Varani.

Displayed at Il Salotto, the hotel’s refined lobby space, the Andrea Varani Exhibition will run until the end of September.

The showcase centers on a curated selection of female portraits, each set within rarefied atmospheres and evocative details.

The exhibition combines striking black-and-white images with delicate color photography, creating a visual contrast that highlights emotion, form, and presence.

In the black-and-white portraits, expressive faces, chiaroscuro, and clean compositions bring attention to the strength and elegance of each subject.

The color photographs add warmth and emotional depth, building a more intimate connection between the viewer and the image.

Together, the works form a refined visual narrative where every subject becomes the center of a suspended moment between reality and imagination.

Born in Florence, Andrea Varani has been a prominent name in fashion photography since the early 1980s.

His career grew from a childhood passion for photography shared with his father into a lifelong creative journey shaped by curiosity, travel, and visual research.

Varani’s breakthrough came through collaborations with Parisian art director Jean Yves Malbos and Flavio Lucchini, founder of Edimoda.

These partnerships led to major editorial assignments for fashion publications such as Mondo Uomo and Donna.

Over the years, Varani developed a distinct style that blends fashion and travel, often portraying distant landscapes, suspended atmospheres, and quiet beauty.

In 2014, the Triennale di Milano honored his work through the solo exhibition “Untitled 199 – Itinerari di moda,” featuring more than 250 photographs.

Through the Andrea Varani Exhibition, Hotel Principe di Savoia continues to position art and culture as part of its guest experience.
