Geeks on a Beach (GOAB), the Philippines’ leading international tech and startup conference, returns on October 1 to 3, 2025 at JPark Island Resort in Mactan, Cebu. The 8th edition will gather innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, and policy leaders to discuss how technology and collaboration can build a more resilient future.
Since 2013, GOAB has grown into a flagship gathering for the Philippine startup ecosystem. It connects founders with investors and mentors while serving as a hub for partnerships, solutions, and learning. According to GOAB lead organizer Tina Amper, the event has become a catalyst for collaborations and investments that continue to shape innovation in the country.
This year, GOAB introduces new features such as the GOAB Beach Club, a year-round membership platform for corporate partners, and Startup Demos, designed to give entrepreneurs more opportunities to pitch and connect with investors. Dave Overton, Symph CEO and co-founding organizer, said these additions will extend the GOAB experience beyond the annual event.
Teams looking to strengthen their knowledge can also join AI-focused masterclasses, ranging from beginner-friendly GenAI sessions to advanced courses for developers and business leaders. Tim Santos will present insights from PhilippineAIReport.com on AI adoption in the country and share strategies for integrating technology while maximizing human talent.
GOAB 8 is organized by geeksPH with support from its founding government partner, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). Sponsors include Kickstart Ventures, 917 Ventures, Austrian Business Agency, Sinigang Valley Association, Apollo Technologies, Megaworld, and several others. Community partners such as QBO Innovation Hub, DEVCON PH, and UXPH will also take part.
Government agencies including DOST, DTI Region 7, and DICT are backing the event. A special Region 7 panel will highlight collaborative programs like StartupIsland.ph that drive innovation in Central Visayas.
The conference will host a diverse lineup of local and global speakers including Jojo Flores of Plug and Play Tech Center, Mohan Belani of e27 Singapore, and Catrina Magsadia of Foxmont Capital Partners. Amper noted that past GOAB events have helped small startups scale, secure acquisitions, and expand internationally.
