Watsons Philippines earned new recognition at the 2025 Marketing Excellence Awards Philippines for its Go Green Living: Onward to a Greener Tomorrow campaign. The win follows earlier honors at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, where Watsons bagged a Gold Stevie for Climate Protection and Sustainability Campaign of the Year and a Bronze Stevie for Sustainable Business Models for its Greener Stores program.
For Watsons, these awards highlight its long-term focus on sustainability across Planet, People, and Products.
Planet
Watsons has rolled out eco-friendly practices, including LED lighting, inverter appliances, and reduced use of plastics in stores. It installed solar panels and shifted 90% of its stores from plastic to paper bags. Through Recycle for Rewards and SM’s Trash to Cash program, customers are encouraged to return used bottles in exchange for perks.
People
Beyond environmental action, Watsons strengthens community health and well-being. It has provided free healthcare to over 10,000 individuals, supported more than 1,500 cleft surgeries through Operation Smile, and offered apprenticeships to young women in underserved areas. Employees also take part in medical missions, coastal clean-ups, and tree planting.
Products
Watsons champions sustainable shopping through its Sustainable Choices line, featuring Clean Beauty, Better Ingredients, refill packs, and Better Packaging. These options allow customers to embrace greener lifestyles while choosing responsibly sourced products.
