Tom Cruise praises Glen Powell for “crushing it” in new action thriller “The Running Man”
Tom Cruise is showing support for his Top Gun: Maverick co-star Glen Powell. The Hollywood icon praised Powell’s performance in the upcoming film The Running Man, calling it thrilling and entertaining.

Cruise joined Powell at the London premiere of The Running Man, directed by Edgar Wright and based on Stephen King’s novel. After the screening, Cruise shared his thoughts on Instagram.
“Another great night out with my friends at the movies! You guys crushed it, congratulations! I laughed, was on the edge of my seat, and ate way too much popcorn,” Cruise wrote.
The premiere gathered big names, including director Edgar Wright, Colman Domingo, Emilia Jones, Lee Pace, and Josh Brolin. Fans were quick to celebrate the reunion of the two Top Gun: Maverick stars on the red carpet.
In The Running Man, Powell stars as Ben Richards, a working-class man forced to join a deadly televised game to save his sick daughter. Contestants, called Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins. Every moment is broadcast to the public, with rising rewards and rising danger.
Wright’s adaptation brings a modern twist to Stephen King’s dystopian world. The film also features Josh Brolin, William H. Macy, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, Daniel Ezra, and Colman Domingo.
Cruise and Powell’s friendship dates back to Top Gun: Maverick, where they shared memorable moments on and off-screen. At CinemaCon earlier this year, Cruise joked that he was “in The Running Man too,” while Powell credited Cruise for teaching him proper running form.
The action-packed The Running Man opens in Philippine cinemas on November 12. Watch the final trailer:
