The galaxy is within reach as “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” unveils their “Giant Mystery Cube” activation at the Mega Fashion Hall in SM Megamall. The larger-than-life display brings the cosmic adventure closer than ever as Mario and the gang take over the space. The activation will run until Sunday, April 12.

“The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” takes the iconic duo, Mario and Luigi, on a brand new journey across the stars as they try to defeat a brand new enemy. They are joined by Toad, Princess Peach, and Yoshi, a new friend they discovered on their adventures. The characters are voiced by an all-star cast, with Chris Pratt and Charlie Day returning to voice Mario and Luigi.
The glowing star arch transports you into the world of “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” opening into the massive Super Mario Mystery Box, the iconic cube towering five floors tall. The base features a 360 LED wall featuring scenes that await audiences from the film. Playful Lumas glow above the cube, showering the space with lights and color.
Mallgoers can be part of the adventure with the illuminated Boat Photo Op, with characters such as Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Peach to pose with. Character banner displays are also featured in the activation, so fans can pose with their favorite characters, brought to life with dynamic lighting and bold visuals.
The “Super Mario” franchise just celebrated their milestone 40th anniversary in 2025, and Mario as a pop culture icon has remained as culturally relevant as ever. “There are so many surprises, mashups from other games and characters that you would never expect to see,” Director Aaron Horvath says. “The level of discovery in this movie is incredible. I think fans will appreciate the attention to detail, the expansion of the story and the depth of these characters. They will be glad to see the world of Galaxy so faithfully represented, but also the surprise environments and crossovers. There is something here for every generation of fan, and I hope audiences take away a great story about family, and that after seeing it, they appreciate their own a little more.”
