SM City Marikina officially opened the holiday season with its “Rockin’ Holidays” launch, filling the mall with music, color, and Christmas cheer. The grand event gathered families, students, and local officials for a festive start to one of the city’s most anticipated celebrations.
The mall transformed into a bright musical stage inspired by jazz and rock ‘n’ roll. At the center stood a towering 35-foot Christmas tree surrounded by the mall’s holiday mascots — Santa, Melty, Jingle & Jangle, Captain Sprucey, and Gifty. Together, they formed a lively band spreading fun across the atrium.
The launch featured performances that blended classic carols with modern energy. Violinist Michaela Torres opened the night with timeless Christmas tunes. The ADHIKA Choir from St. Scholastica’s Marikina followed with moving harmonies. Madison performers brought the stage alive with “The Nutcracker Rock,” giving a playful twist to a holiday classic.
The ceremonial lighting was a highlight. VIP guests joined the countdown with glowing glasses and guitars, matching the event’s upbeat theme. The lights came on, bathing the entire atrium in bright colors. The joyful moment signaled the start of a season full of music and celebration.
Marikina City Mayor Marjorie Ann “Maan” Teodoro and Congressman Marcy Teodoro led the city’s representatives. They were joined by members of the City Council and students from St. Scholastica’s Marikina. Representing SM Supermalls were SAVP for Operations Ronald Allan Brosas, Regional Operations Head Don Edward Vijandre, Area Marketing Head Ma-ann Hipol, Regional Marketing Head Khristine Lenon, and Mall Manager Francis Brian Cruz.
Hosted by Janeena Chan, the evening captured the lively spirit of the holidays. Guests enjoyed photo ops, performances, and a shared sense of joy.
SM City Marikina invites families and friends to visit the Rockin’ Holidays centerpiece and enjoy music shows, mall activities, and shopping treats throughout the season.
