Now they belong to someone else, and you’re left with the haunting question: “What if I’d said something sooner?” “It’s about a love that never had the chance to begin,” Shye shares, “which sometimes hurts even more than one that ended, because you’ll always wonder what could have been.“

Interestingly, one of the most unexpected parts of “Too late” comes in the bridge — a section that originated as its own separate demo before finding a perfect home in this song. “It’s one of my favourite parts of the track,” Shye says. “For me, it encapsulates the feeling of finally speaking how you truly feel after holding everything in. Listen out for it!”
Thematically, “Too late” taps into a feeling that’s as personal as it is universal — the ache of missed timing and unanswered what ifs.
