Ruel Kicking My Feet Album Marks a Bold New Era for the Pop Icon
Pop icon Ruel begins a new chapter with his second album Kicking My Feet, now out via Giant Music. The record captures his growth as a songwriter and performer, showcasing a deeper, more mature sound.

The album features 11 tracks that explore love, heartbreak, and self-discovery. Ruel leads with the emotional single “Not What’s Going On,” supported by fan favorites “Wild Guess,” “I Can Die Now,” and “The Suburbs.” Each track reflects Ruel’s journey from teenage pop star to an artist who wears his heart on his sleeve.
Ruel describes the record as his most personal yet. “I had the clearest vision I’ve ever had going into making a project,” he said. “There was a lot of certainty on how I wanted it to be perceived, the kind of artist I want to be perceived as, and the things I wanted to say.”
Alongside the album, Ruel released the “Wild Guess” music video starring comedian Mary Beth Barone. Directed by Jackie Zhou, the video takes a humorous spin on heartbreak, set in a Wild West film scene where ex-lovers reunite on set. Barone called the experience “a step forward for storytelling,” adding praise for Ruel’s professionalism.
Kicking My Feet blends folk textures and pop rhythms with honest lyrics. Tracks like “No News Is Good News” and “dst (outro)” highlight themes of acceptance and maturity. The album’s sound comes from an impressive list of producers including Julian Bunetta, Kenny Beats, Dan Wilson, Taka Perry, and longtime collaborator M-Phazes.
Ruel’s career continues to rise globally. With over three billion streams and multiple platinum records, he’s become one of pop’s brightest young artists. His collaborations with luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Fendi, and recognition from icons like Sir Elton John, confirm his place as a true modern pop star.
Ruel will bring Kicking My Feet to fans worldwide as part of Lollapalooza’s 2026 South American lineup, with stops in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia.
