Sign up via GForest as every registered runner helps plant one mangrove tree

Where else can you hit your fitness goals and become a hero for the environment? GCash Run 2026 returns for another exciting year, welcoming runners of all levels to an impactful event that acts as an eco-movement towards a sustainable future.

Organized as a fun, meaningful run, the event was introduced last year and gathered 12,000 eco-runners at Ayala Avenue. Aside from putting in the steps, the participants, along with the support of event sponsors and sustainability partners, helped plant 76,000 trees across 11 hectares in the Negros region. This year, GCash Run is back for more as it opens the registration for its second edition happening next month, March 22, at Ayala Avenue.

Run for a cause by signing up via GForest
Each sign-up to the GCash Run contributes to the planting of a grey stilted mangrove tree in Negros Occidental, made possible by the South Negros Reforestation Initiative from the long-standing partnership between Silliman University and GCash. Mangroves protect coastlines by reducing erosion and storm impact, while serving as some of the most effective natural ecosystems for carbon storage.

The initiative, along with GCash Run in general, reflects GCash’s commitment to making sustainable living easier and more accessible for every Filipino. Through GForest, every transaction on the GCash app—from cashing in, sending money, paying bills, buying load, or even taking 20,000 steps a day—earns green energy points. Users can redeem these points to plant virtual trees and contribute to a greener future, making them certified GForest Heroes.

Over 24-million strong
Over 24 million GForest users, or Green Heroes,” have already joined the GCash eco-movement, including participants in the GCash Run. More people can join the cause in GCash Run 2026, with registration now open via GForest.

Overall, GForest and its green heroes contributed to the planting of 4.2 million trees since 2019, reforesting almost 19,000 hectares of land (larger than Quezon City). The efforts have also supported 15,000 farming families, 30% of whom are women.

Every stride counts

Supporting the environment goes hand-in-hand with GCash’s promotion of sustainability. For GCash Run 2026, runners will be given singlets made from recycled materials. Along with everybody else, they will also get rewarded with special promos for the GCash Run 2026.

EnjoyP100 off until March 22, 2026 by using the code G2RUN2026 (Per DTI Fair Trade Permit No. FTEB-245602 Series of 2025). Meanwhile, enjoy P150 off from February 13-17 by using the code LUVPHFORESTS (DTI Fair Trade Permit No. FTEB-248225 Series of 2026). Stay tuned for more exciting discounts.

GCash Run 2026 proves that sustainability doesn’t have to be complicated. With every step and swipe, runners become part of a movement to save the environment. It all ties in to how GCash and GForest bloom as effective tools that enable action, where small, simple steps can create real collective impact.
