Learn how Asurion Philippines evolved into a global electronics powerhouse, backed by a preparation-driven culture and seamless support from FedEx.

In an industry where regulatory changes can stall shipments overnight and supply chain disruptions can spread across continents, preparation isn’t optional – it’s essential. In an environment of geopolitical uncertainties and economic shifts, the companies that continue to thrive are the ones that anticipate change rather than react to it.
Since 2009, Asurion has done exactly that, evolving from a single facility to a six-location network serving markets across Asia-Pacific, the United States, and Europe by turning preparation into its competitive advantage.
Building Excellence on a Culture of Preparedness
What began as a focused operation repairing and manufacturing electronic equipment has evolved into a multi-faceted enterprise spanning manufacturing, customer solutions, and IT services. Guiding this growth is a strong commitment to compliance and operational excellence, a principle that has shaped Asurion Philippines’ evolution from a single facility to a diversified organization.
Dindo Santos, Transportation Manager at Asurion Philippines and one of the company’s pioneers, attributes this progress to a simple philosophy: “There should be no surprises – you should always be prepared – even for the unexpected.”
This mindset drives the company’s comprehensive risk registry and strict adherence to global standards, earning certifications such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT), and Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status. By anticipating challenges and prioritizing compliance, Asurion has turned potential obstacles into long-term advantages.
But preparation alone wasn’t enough when regulatory complexities arose. Like many Philippine companies operating in global supply chains, Asurion faced challenges navigating evolving government requirements due to some regulatory frameworks that sometimes leave room for interpretation. Having a logistics partner that understood both the technical requirements and the nuances of cross-border shipping became essential.
Logistics that match the pace
Asurion Philippines imports raw materials and components from overseas, repairing and manufacturing electronics at their Calamba facility, then shipping finished products back to their parent company and clients abroad. The company operates around the clock, even on weekends, with customer service teams working night shifts to support global operations.
Asurion Philippines maintains a strong collaboration with FedEx, with shipment volumes continuing to grow. “The dangerous goods capability, that’s the advantage of FedEx,” Dindo notes, “Along with that, the efficiency of the service and especially the 24/7 availability of customer support makes all the difference.”
For a company that ships large volumes of electronics on weekly schedules, FedEx responsive customer support ensures that issues are addressed and resolved without delay. This level of accessibility is vital for a business that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. “When a problem arises at midnight, it can’t wait until morning,” Dindo shared.
Leveraging New Opportunities
The company’s competitive edge comes from its unique position in the market. While BPO competitors are common, Asurion’s manufacturing capabilities set it apart as only a few companies in the Philippines operate in this specialized niche of electronics repair and manufacturing.
Building on this foundation, Asurion is now working to expand its customer solutions division. While maintaining strong manufacturing operations, the company is exploring additional services it can offer. “That’s the goal, actually, we all want to improve,” Dindo shares, “If we can expand what we do, not only focusing on repair and manufacturing, but also insurance services or anything else we’re capable of.” This approach reflects the company’s commitment to growth.
His advice for aspiring entrepreneurs is straightforward: know your market, stay compliant, find a reliable partner for import and export services, and never stop learning.
For Asurion Philippines, long-term success isn’t about avoiding challenges, it’s about being ready for them. By combining rigorous compliance, strategic partnerships, and a culture of continuous education, the company has established a foundation that supports both stability and expansion.
As they continue to diversify their services and explore new opportunities, one principle remains constant: preparation today shapes resilience tomorrow.
