Palo Alto Networks has introduced Prisma SASE 4.0, an AI-powered secure access service edge solution designed to counter highly evasive threats that bypass traditional defenses. At the center of this upgrade is Prisma Browser, a first-of-its-kind in-browser protection that neutralizes encrypted attacks assembling inside the browser, one of the most overlooked areas in enterprise security.
As the browser becomes the primary workspace for cloud and AI-driven applications, Palo Alto Networks emphasizes that consumer-grade browsers lack the necessary security for enterprises. Prisma Browser provides real-time web threat interception, creating a defense layer that traditional gateways miss.
Beyond browser security, Prisma SASE 4.0 strengthens data and private app protection:
- AI-driven Data Security: Automates classification of sensitive data across all formats, reducing false positives by up to 10x compared to legacy systems. It includes 140+ pre-trained ML classifiers and customizable models to secure critical intellectual property like contracts and source code.
- Private App Security: Goes beyond static web application firewalls, automatically adapting to dynamic applications and updating security policies in real-time to defend against custom-built attacks.
Anand Oswal, EVP of Network Security at Palo Alto Networks, said the launch shifts the conversation from merely blocking threats to enabling business growth. He noted that AI-driven attacks demand last-mile protections directly within the browser, making old methods obsolete.
The company’s SASE annual recurring revenue has now surpassed $1.3 billion, up 35% year-over-year, with more than 6,300 customers, including one-third of the Fortune 500. Gartner has also named Palo Alto Networks a Leader in SASE, SSE, and SD-WAN Magic Quadrants for multiple consecutive years.
Prisma SASE 4.0 innovations, including Prisma Browser, will be available later this year.
