PalawanPay Youth Sports Development Takes Center Court with PYBC

PalawanPay, the e-wallet arm of the Palawan Group of Companies, continues to empower the Filipino youth through its support of grassroots sports. As the Platinum Sponsor of the Philippine Youth Basketball Championship (PYBC), PalawanPay reaffirms its commitment to youth sports development and community growth.

In a fellowship lunch hosted by PYBC, PalawanPay representatives joined young athletes, families, and coaches to celebrate the beginning of this national tournament. The partnership aims to inspire discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship among young players while building pathways for future opportunities.

Lilian Castro-Selda, Chief Financial Officer of Palawan Group, said the company’s goal is to empower Filipinos beyond financial services. “At Palawan Group, we have always believed in grassroots development. Partnering with PYBC allows us to help Filipino youth dream, learn, and grow both on and off the court,” she said.

Basketball icon and PYBC Commissioner Benjie Paras encouraged players to stay focused and play with passion. “Commitment means putting in hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and love for the game,” Paras told the young athletes.

PBA legends Ronnie Magsanoc, Rico Maierhofer, and JJ Helterbrand also shared stories of perseverance, motivating the players to pursue their dreams with determination.

PYBC Tournament Director Carl Villanueva and Deputy Commissioner Paulo Layug presented certificates of appreciation to sponsors, recognizing PalawanPay’s vital role in supporting the event.

Through this partnership, PalawanPay helps create a platform where young Filipinos can grow as athletes and as individuals. The company’s continued support for youth sports reflects its broader mission to empower communities, build character, and nurture the next generation of champions both in sports and in life.
