Sleeping with the Lights On showcases Jade LeMac’s vulnerable artistry
Jade LeMac has released her latest single, “Sleeping with the Lights On”, the third track from her upcoming EP, It’s Always At Night, set for release on November 7 under Warner Music Canada and East West Records.

Known for her raw storytelling and unapologetic voice, the Vietnamese-Canadian pop artist bares her emotions in the track, opening up about heartbreak and vulnerability. “How the hell are you so fine, while I’m out here losing my mind?” she sings, a line that captures the essence of the song.
LeMac shared that the track marked a turning point in her creative process. “This one is definitely a vulnerable song, a heartbreak song. This also was the first song where I really discovered my sound when it comes to writing on guitar,” she said.
The EP was produced with longtime collaborator JVP, who has worked with Mother Mother and Simple Plan. It features guitar-driven pop layered with a vocal choir of LeMac’s friends and family, adding an intimate and personal dimension. The project explores themes of love, heartbreak, desire, and self-discovery.
“‘It’s Always At Night’ is a story about a person who’s in love with love. There are songs for so many emotions—heartbreak, desire, love, and lust,” LeMac explained.
Jade’s career momentum has been building steadily. She recently performed at major festivals including Osheaga and Lollapalooza, joined Maren Morris on her Dreamsicle tour, and announced her first Canadian headline tour. With over 450 million streams globally and more than 1.6 million TikTok followers, her strongest fanbase lies in Southeast Asia, with the Philippines leading engagement.
Recognized by GLAAD with a nomination for Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist, LeMac is redefining modern pop by staying true to her identity as a Queer Vietnamese Canadian while connecting with audiences worldwide.
